Sihanoukville Cambodia : Getting To & FromInformation about getting to & from Sihanoukville Cambodia. By BusThere are several buses each day to and from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh ($4 for the single four hour journey on a very good road), Buses arrive and depart Sihanoukville from the bus station on Street 108 (ask at your guesthouse/hotel for departure & arrival times). By TrainTrains go to and from Sihanoukville on alternate days to Phnom Penh, and you can also get off at Takeo and Kampot along the way the journey takes twelve hours! By BoatYou can go to and from Sihanoukville to Koh Kong, the Thai border crossing town, via the ferry each day. The journey takes 3-4 hours and costs $12-$15. Its not a bad idea to purchase your ticket at your guesthouse as it might well be cheaper than at the port. The wet season can cause some cancellations but this is generally a lot more pleasant an option than the road. The speedboat departs from Sihanoukville to Koh Kong at 12PM from the Port of Passenger Ship, Port of Sihanoukville off Hun Sen Beach. If you say Koh Kong, your moto driver will know where you need to go. Of the three stops, get off at the second one (Rak Long). You’ll be in Koh Kong at 4PM. The border crossing closes at 5PM, and so if you want to head straight into Thailand and not spend a night in Koh Kong, head straight away to immigration control.
