You can go to and from Sihanoukville to Koh Kong, the Thai border crossing town, via the ferry each day. The journey takes 3-4 hours and costs $12-$15. Its not a bad idea to purchase your ticket at your guesthouse as it might well be cheaper than at the port. The wet season can cause some cancellations but this is generally a lot more pleasant an option than the road. The speedboat departs from Sihanoukville to Koh Kong at 12PM from the Port of Passenger Ship, Port of Sihanoukville off Hun Sen Beach. If you say Koh Kong, your moto driver will know where you need to go. Of the three stops, get off at the second one (Rak Long). You’ll be in Koh Kong at 4PM. The border crossing closes at 5PM, and so if you want to head straight into Thailand and not spend a night in Koh Kong, head straight away to immigration control. If you’re going the other way, the ferry leaves at 8AM.
