Koh Kong Province
Koh Kong is the first or last stop
on the overland coastal route to Thailand. Each year we all wonder when the road will be
finished and each rainy season we are reminded it will be another year. Despite the
road conditions, the trip through the Cardamom Mountains is very picturesque as well as
the 4 ferry crossings along the way. In the town of Srey Ambel, the first ferry
crossing from Phnom Penh, is Preah Angkor Phnom Klong an overlooked Angkorian Site. Not
much left here but quite interesting none the less and interesing to note that the Kings
of Angkor had their day at the Beach. Also in Koh Kong Province are water falls,
and Koh Kong Island with its crystal clear waters. Most zip on through, but it is well
worth a stop over for a day or two.
