Battambang, Pailin, Poipet,
Banteay Chmar, Preah Vihear
This trip was taken back in 2002
when Matt Jacobson was updating his book Adventure Cambodia. We drove to Battambang
and saw the temples of Banan, Ek Phnom, Phnom Sampau, and Sneng. We then took off to
Pailin were we saw a waterfall and some gem stone mining. From Pailin we took the road
along the Thai bortder to Malai and Poipet and then to Sisophon. From Sisophnon we went to
Banteay Chmar Temple, then Samrong, and spent the night in the casinos at the Osmach
Border Crossing. From there we went to Anlong Veng, where Pol Pots grave is. From Anlong
Veng we hit Preah Vihear Temple on the Thai Border then passed Banteay Srey on our way
into Siem Reap. On the way back to Phnom Penh, I made another stop at Kuha Nokor in
Kampong Thom Province.
